Old with the New

Old favourite, Natasha, has just come back to my attention with her beautiful new S/S 2011 Collection. Something for everyone, the brand screams elegance and easy chic and having only been in the spotlight since 2003, I definitely think Natasha has many, many years of beautiful garments ahead of her. She even has her online store coming soon! My poor bank account. {photo source: Natasha}

A new favourite, Markus Lupfer, was brought to my attention from my ever faithful friend, net-a-porter. A perfect mix of class and funk, this London based brand has become international with Markus's immaculate bead work and everyday clothing with a twist. He should definitely be the splurge item in every wardrobe. {Photo source: Markus Lupfer}

Palermo Style

So, if anyone has been watching 'The City' - I'm obsessed - you would know that Olivia probably isn't the nicest girl you'll ever meet but there is no denying her fabulous style. Above she rocks Valentino... how divine! But even her casual dress sense reeks of class.

The other Lagerfeld Girl

Lagerfeld's other muse, (see earlier post) is Isabel Lucas. If any of you guys have seen her interviews, she's not the brightest penny, and yet I am constantly flabbergasted at how she makes ultra casual, ultra cool. She could be wearing thongs, and a vintage dress that NOBODY else in the world could pull off and makes it seem easy and hippy chic. I secretly adore her. She does the mix and match to perfection.

I'm Back!

So sorry for my lack of posts as of late but I have been running aimlessly around Melbourne for the past week having an absolute blast. And I've found new loves which I hope you guys will like! First off I found this little boutique in a side street next to a gorgeous french place that did only crepes. They were delicious by the way! The boutique is called Lady Petrova. I haven't heard of this place before but they had the most colourful, and quirky outfits and are available online here. Here are just some of their beautifully made and reasonably priced outfits I found online. Such a shame I found it on my last day there and had run out of money...

Secondly, One of my best friends told me to have a look at this boutique when she was down in Melbourne a week before me and I immediately fell in love. The phrase "freaky chic" came to mind. It's called Alpha60. Let me know what you think. ps they also have a really interesting video on their website that shows their inspiration for the winter collection/ they were probably also a bit bored at the time of making it.

And finally, my third newly discovered boutique in Melbourne was called Fame Agenda, found in Melbourne Central. This very glamourous store stocks everything from Maurie and Eve to Camilla and Marc to Gail Sorronda (and we all need a little of all of these brands wouldn't you agree?) I bought a divine Marnie Skillings dress when I was in there for a ball I have coming up. It's a very classy establishment and I'll definitely be going back there.

American Influence

I don't know if you guys have noticed but the American flag is in so many collections at the moment. Sass & Bide, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Maurie and Eve just to name a few. I will admit I must have the Maurie and Eve one. Available on mycatwalk.com.

Stolen Girlfriends Club

Started in 2005, partners Dan Gosling, Marc Moore and Luke Harwood created their brand Stolen Girlfriends Club to break away from the "churn and burn fashion". They've started completely from scratch with no help at all and are now international. The three have said, "As long as you have good intuition and vision for the final outcome, it doesn't matter how you get there and the technical imperfections actually add feeling to a project." Pretty inspirational. Love the guys denim+leather jacket. {Source: stolengirlfriendsclub.com}

Lagerfeld's Favourite.

After her million and one Chanel campaigns, it's no secret that Abbey Lee Kershaw is one of Karl Lagerfeld's favourites. Along with her many other high end campaigns with labels like Gucci, Victoria's Secret and Christian Dior, our little Aussie is ranked no. 6 in the worlds top supermodels. Not bad hey?

I got distracted..

I wish we lived in haute couture but until that day... another new trend.
Mesh.
Mesh dresses, mesh jackets, mesh tights, mesh tops, mesh mesh mesh. The top dress is Camilla and Marc - and divine I might add - available on mycatwalk. Otherwise I found this gorgeous dress on Princess Polly's website. Only $70 ladies!

A "cut" above the rest.

I just had to share Victor and Rolf's SS10 Collection because, despite being bizarre, it is absolutely fabulous. The engineering of the garments blows my mind. One day Bec...

Speaking of John Galliano..

The Christian Dior SS11 Haute Couture show = Genius. I loved Galliano's use of spring colours tied in with his unbelievable designs. It left me wanting more, the way a good runway show should be. In an interview he said his inspiration was nature and wanted to bring in whimsical, playful glamour. I love those gloves! {Photo Source: Wikifashion}

Give me Givenchy

Givenchy's Haute Couture Fall 2010 brings a new level of intricacy to the industry. Having been around for 45 years, it's still going strong. It's success is all thanks to it genius head designers over the years going from Hubert de Givenchy himself to John Galliano to Alexander Mcqueen. {Photo Source: Wikifashion}

ShowPony on Facebook.

Facebook brought my attention to a new label called Miss ShowPony, a Brisbane based millinery and accessories store. You can see just from the pictures the quality of the materials and jewelery used. Swarovski crystals make many appearances. Have a look at their gorgeous work on the website.

Mania for Mania Mania

Harper and Harley brought my attention to this baby. It's natural look and feel screams must have. Absolutely divine. Available on Frolic.
